Hey! I'm Dr Chanelle Dennis and I am a Clinical Psychologist professional and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT) by background, with years of clinical experience. My training and experiences has given me a broad understanding of the experiences and diversity of different population groups. I currently work in a NHS CAMHS setting working with children and young people, whilst continuing with private therapy and mental wellbeing sessions. I have worked with a variety of complex & common Mental Health and Substance Misuse disorders. I'm enthusiastic about having open & honest conversations regarding Mental Health, reducing stigma and promoting mental wellbeing particularly in Black & Brown communities. Traditionally, therapy hasn’t always been an option in Black and Brown communities or culturally-inclusive. However, I work with and truly welcome clients from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds. I invite clients to be authentically true to themselves in sessions regardless of their background or upbringing. In return, I promise to share my authentic self, so that together we can work on achieving your therapy goals and needs.
I use evidence-based approaches, like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-focussed therapies. I would describe my therapy style as intergrative leaning on different approaches to meet the client needs.
